    Hi @Jason K,
Welcome to the VFG Forums, and thanks for bringing this designer to our attention - he definitely deserves to have an entry in our Label Resource!
Please view the guidelines for label submissions here, and feel free to post any biographical research you've done there as well.
    PM me with any questions!

Hello! I am a vintage lover based out of Michigan. I love the 30s and 40s! Gimme all the new look vibes, too. Favorites are gabardine swing jackets, organza and sheer dresses from the 1940s, and I never miss a sassy 40s shoulder pad! I joined to learn more about a Ceil Chapman dress I got, but i'm excited to look around! What a dream.

Hello all! I already need help changing my Avatar name.

I am a newbie to vintage fashion. My mother tried to teach me to sew when I was young, but that didn't work out very well. She's a
'measure twice, cut once' kind of gal and I'm more of a 'meh? Just start cutting' type. I taught myself to sew at 40 and have wrecked about a third of my projects. I don't use patterns (wouldn't know how to read one) and mostly hack existing items to take off stuff I don't like and add stuff I do. I've also learned how to use a serger and was given a coverlocker by my Mom because she was so pleased that I finally became interested in sewing. My grandmother told me that it's only a mistake if you don't learn something, and I've learned plenty. I do have a few things I want to work on that are irreplaceable and have held off until I could find a group of experienced, smart and creative people to ask for help. The photo of me is one of the first things I made. I used a lot of glue, but it came out very nicely.

    Hi everyone!

My name is Emily, and I'm currently honing my skills for vintage!
I love vintage and retro jewellery, my favourite purchase being a gorgeous Georg Jensen tigers eye ring from the 60s.

I live in the UK, and love dragging my other half antiquing at the weekends!

Thank you for this wonderful community!

Hi everyone and nice to meet you all!

I’m a vintage enthusiast who loves to shop and deepen my knowledge of vintage fashion. I don’t really sell besides any clearing out of my closet. I started buying vintage about 12 years ago through all types of thrifting and am now focusing on vintage Chanel and Hermes. I’m looking to learn as much as I can about materials, techniques, authentication, etc. Any recommendations for books and resources to study would be extremely welcome! Thank you! Happy to join this group of vintage lovers.

Hi all! I've visited the public forums many times over the last few years and always found them quite helpful! I am opening an online store next month, and I know this is going to be an excellent aid in ensuring accurate dating/descriptions and learning even more about the vintage I've adored since a teen. My biggest interests at this point are learning label eras and proper cleaning. Excited to dive into the resources!

    Hello,

I’m Katrina and my family found some well used vintage quilts while cleaning our grandmother’s house after her passing. I came to get recommendations for cleaning and maintaining the old fabric for display.

    thanks for having us.

Hi, I've been a long-time follower of the Vintage Fashion Guild's vintage labels service, as I am a reseller and occasionally come across vintage clothing items. But maybe I've come across more vintage than I know, which is why I registered for the forums, which I just discovered. I'd be interested in knowing the criteria for choosing which vintage labels to include in your database, as most labels I've looked up haven't been included, which may only indicate that the labels I've been looking for are not vintage. Is that a safe assumption: If a label is not in your database, then it is not vintage? I'm looking forward to going through the many posts to see what I can learn. Thanks so much for being here. (I'm not sure that this is the place where I'm supposed to introduce myself, but it's the only place I could find to enter anything. It says I was responding but didn't say to whom or what I was responding to; so, if I'm not in the right place, pardon my error.)

G’day from the land down under!

I am very pleased that I found your group. I have always had a love of vintage and retro clothing. I am an avid collector of sewing patterns along with a growing collection of vintage clothing. I am eager to learn more about the items I have. I know you won’t necessarily have much info on Australian designers and labels, but I’m hoping to glean some tips on where and how to research these things. I have a little eBay shop where I sell of my sewing pattern overflow, and perhaps one day I will add clothing to my shop and join your guild as an official seller.

    Hi All
Came across your site when researching
white house bond street and found some useful information. I deal mainly in 1940s male clothes but do have quite a few 1940s women's items which I lend or sell for the almost weekly 1940s events all over the UK. Just a Hobby so will have a few questions. I may be able to help with the 60s and 70s questions as I probably bought them from new. IMG-20220421-WA0000.jpg

    Hi everyone!

I volunteer at our local church op shop but have also worked in high fashion in Sydney in my younger years. At our op shop our donations are incredible! We have a steady stream of designer clothes and a lot of quality pieces from around the world donated. Today I was saying if it’s not designer we can’t keep it, we have limited room. The op shop is very blessed and well love by our local community. Funds go to St John’s Youth for disadvantaged children.

Thank you for having me :)

*clothing we can’t take/fit gets donated to other op shops!

    Maggie from Canada here!

New to the community digitally and in general. Stumbled in here while trying to research a blazer I just purchased, unintentionally my first vintage piece. Looks like there's some insanely knowledgable people and insights being shared!

J.K. Answering a question. I googled my dad's old business and found this link. Someone here asked about "Pab". So I signed up to reply. It was my dad's cocktail dress business in the 1960's at 498 7th Ave., Manhattan. Jonny Herbert was the sister business. They were beautiful dresses.
Sold at all the finest stores, Saks 5th, Lord & Taylor, etc.
It was fun walking into the vault where dresses were being designed. Every year my dad made a hand beaded gown for my mom to wear to the Met. Gala. When she died, I gave them away to Goodwill. Pab and Jonny Herbert helped support FIT. The store name was usually listed on the cloth tab, not the business name. Hope this is helpful to the person who asked about Pab.
I have a photo of one dress from 1970 but can't upload it.

Hya, don't know if this is the right place to introduce myself. First of all I'm a hoarder. I get great pleasure from charity shops or ebay. I have aquired many treasures over the last few years taking a stand against fast fashion. Pleased to have finally found like minded people. I have an attachment to many items, but have too many occasion dresses that other people will get good use out of.

    Hi Cris and welcome!

If you find a label that we do not have, you may post it in the label submission thread here: https://forums.vintagefashionguild.org/threads/post-labels-for-the-label-resource-here-2024.81545 Although obviously the balance of the Label Resource is vintage, we also include newer labels. We always have (and always will have) a backlog of labels to research and we don't prioritize very obscure labels in this process.
