I have several pairs of boots in which the lining has gone bad... powdery and/or sticky. Should I try just ripping it out or will whatever may be under there be worse than the lining? Most of them are leather so will the underside of the the leather be just as sticky as the lining? Anyone...

ball of foot pads? ball of foot insoles? no toe slip pads? I actyally like these and put them in almost all my shoes. They keep your foot from slipping forward in your shoes while adding padding, great for open toe shoes. The only problem is if they are vintage and have deteriorated..yuck!
