    gosh, that really is fabulous! love the beading detail, and yes the flattering narrow ribbing at the waist, too. it's amazing how modern it looks. she was so ahead of her time.

    Yes, she was incredible. I've gathered that the dress was made 1951-1953, so about 60 years old. Hope I look that good at 60 ;-)

    As for the computer, it is still in jeporady!

    Lovely dress. Those pom-poms are rather cheeky. Do you have the reference for the date of this dress? It would be great if we could see the proportion of the length on your mannequin. That's another photo I'm afraid if you can handle another cocktail!

    Measurements of Mannequin

    For anyone interested, here are the measurements of the manni that the dress was displayed on.

    front shoulder to shoulder 15"
    length from shoulder to bottom of manni 22"
    bust 36"
    waist 26"
    hip 36"
