I can see something else written under Bette, as well ending in Ltd. and the actual address 6, Ridley Place.
It looks 1940s to me, swing era.
I saw this to but is it " Of Newcastle Ltd" or "Newcastle Ltd".I think it just says (of Newcastle) Ltd - or something like that.

I saw that photo too but I think that would have been across the street.I had a look too! That hairdresser has been there since 1979. I did find an old photo (50s/60s) where it looks like 'Doreen dresses' may have been at number 6, but difficult to tell.
