Chanel buttons on Renfrew jacket?

No, there is no chain that I can detect and no, the buttons on the cuffs are decorative but not functional.
 
okay. you'd see the chain if there were one. i'm still not sure what to make of it. the buttons and the textile link it to chanel, but i'd think an authorized high end copy would have the chain and the functional buttons.

you certainly do have a puzzling piece!
 
I have done what Anne suggested and sent an email to the Chanel co. and asked if Holt Renfrew ever had an agreement with them to provide adaptations. I will let you all know if they respond. Thank you again for all your help.
