    If it just went up to the waist, it would have to fit an 8 foot female, yikes !!

    I agree with Jonathan and others that felt your garment is newer and likely from the 1970's at the earliest due to the reason all ready provided. This piece of apparel is fancier than yours but similar in the design of the bodice. This outfit is from a current Pakistani designer.
