Your ties are AMAZING, Tiffany and MS! (My favorites are the pin up with 3D glasses, and the V Galet handpaint--wow!)

I love love love ties. All of them, indiscriminately, and will be waiting with baited breath to see more on this thread! Here are a few of my own faves:

1. GOP kipper, Dior birthday brocade, handpaint, "Who threw the overalls in Mrs. Murphy's Chowder?"

2. Red for fall!

3. 40s moire silk Sulka bowtie w/Deco stars

4. A tie I deeply regret having sold, a c 1940 shark damask that went to a woman's lawyer friend for his birthday...

5. Countess Mara pictorial ties (the far right tie is a Tina Leser)

6. Late 20s tie in box

Wow! Excellent ties.....MS--love the deadstock bowties and Carrie, the "Who threw the overalls in Mrs. Murphy's Chowder?" tie is wonderful!!

omgosh am LOVING these!!

I think my favorite that we've owned (which sold long ago) is this 1950s rockabilly clip on with glittering, dancing horseshoes:

FIRST - I am really drooling over some of your finds. What amazing ties you have all found. I love this thread.

I have this crazy love/hate relationship with ties. I just sold off a lot of 50 of them to another dealer. This way I can buy more ties and sit here and hate them...until I buy more to hate. Then sell off another big lot and start over again :)

Anyway, some of my favorites - these have all been sold but stick out to me as some of the best I have had:

Found this one hidden away at a digout estate sale.

A tale of serious agony and despair. This tie is HIGHLY collectible and I had the great fortune to find it in NWT in mind condition. Sold quickly and I sent off the tie immediately and was happy with my sale. A week later, it STILL hadn't been scanned into the USPS tracking system and my buyer didn't have it. I began bugging the post office until I finally got an email from them - they had ruined my tie - right at my local substation. Wah wah.

Last picture - I had the VERY good fortune to one day walk into the Salvation Army and notice the cashier sorting ties in between customers. I glanced at them and realized they looked a bit earlier so walked over to take a look. Imagine my surprise to find a cache of deadstock ties ranging from the 20s to 40s. Every single one had their original tags. It was crazy. Needless to say I bought them all and the best part was, I got them before they started using their damn gun to stick price tags through the fabric. YAY!!

KEEP EM' COMING - this is really fun!

I don't have any images worthy of this thread at the moment, but thought I saw a couple of connections in some of the prints already shown:

1. GOP kipper, Dior birthday brocade, handpaint, "Who threw the overalls in Mrs. Murphy's Chowder?"

'scuse my ignorance, but is that last one the real design name or made up? because I immediately saw an Irish themed tie (you know, green, shamrocks, irish stew etc.)

and Maureen I wondered if this print was based on the song 'Leaning against a lamppost' from 1937 - would the period fit?
Drunken man tie - found hanging at the Sally Army for $2 - another really quick sale.
