The Pointer Sisters were a popular American R&B singing group known for their impeccable style and award winning chart-topping hits: Jump (For My Love), He's So Shy, Neutron Dance, I'm So Excited, Slow Hand; just to name a few. Anita, Ruth, June and Bonnie Pointer were inspired by the fashions of the 1940s. Originally, the girls stocked their closets with floral dresses, wide-brimmed hats, feathered boas, knotted pearls and platform shoes from thrift stores as an answer to the question of how to stylishly dress the singing group on a budget. This look was later retooled in the early 1980s to a more updated modern feel.
