Did anyone see this last night? On Smithsonian channel? We are not privy to it in our area so I watched it online.
Oh my stars. Dita was so beautiful.
Wow, wow and wow on the clothing.

Loving this show. Had some hat makers come in yesterday. Wish they would of shown more of their hats.

Although I cannot get the Smithsonian Channel, I was thrilled to see it featured Doris Raymond. More than 30 years ago I went cold to SF to sell vintage clothing. I well remember carrying garments up many steep stairs to her upstairs shop. Doris was so helpful, kind, honest and charming to this greenie. She invited me to an Art Deco Society fashion show that evening. Once I saw those clothes in action, I was hooked and have been ever since. Her encouragement really was my beginning. She became a principle in the Vintage Fashion Expo, in which I was an exhibitor for over 20 years. She then relocated to the Los Angeles area. She is still as pretty and as charming as when I first met her. Smithsonian could not have chosen a more knowlegable, more gracious vintage clothing expert for their series.

I really like this show, I watched the first episode on their website. I don''t get the channel here either, and don't have I-Tunes, and wonder if there is any other way to see it. It is the first show on vintage that I ever really liked at all. I want to see the show with the young men show make hats. There must be some way to see it or purchase the show?

I agree with Marian. Doris is a wonderful choice for a show. I had done business with her back around 1999-2000 when I was back East, supplying her with some clothing for a major film she was costuming, and she was gracious and pleasant and extremely professional. When I made a trip to LA later in 200o I visited her store when it was at another location (if I recall). She was welcoming and inspiring. Just from a brief conversation I learned so much about the tiniest details and how important they are. I always thought of her with great admiration and am thrilled she has a show.

One of these days I will get around to driving over to her shop. I admit I thought it was still by appointment only, but apparently not!

Barbara, you can purchase the individual episodes for $1.99 each on Amazon. It's well worth the price and it's a business expense! I've never met Doris, but she is portrayed just as graciously and generous as you ladies say she is.

Type Smithsonian Channel L.A. Frock Stars in Google and you can watch the full episodes.
It is how I watch it as I don't get it in my area but in a family members home I saw it first. I am hooked.
There is also a FB page and they are asking to like if you want more of this show. I cannot put links here. Maybe a member will. Fabulous.

Only the first episode is available in it's entirety online. The rest are 2 and 3 minute clips. You must subscribe to Smithsonian Channel on your TV or you can purchase the full episodes at iTunes and Amazon for $1.99 each and watch on your computer, tablet or phone. Highly worth the cost! Foofoogal, if you are able to see all entire episodes online for free, could you post a link here please? Thank you!

Here is the link and I was wrong. Only one full episode. I had watched this one online and then like I stated saw the others at a family members home. I just assumed they would add the others as well.
I am not happy as I want to watch the one on the 11th. I guess I will have to watch the taped one later at my family members house again.
Possibly they will show up on youtube soon. I do apologize. Like Jody said it is worth the cost of $1.99 to watch the rest or each. Very informative and anything to promote vintage clothing is a win/win IMHO.

The one can be seen in full on You tube. Can you not see that?

Unfortunately, for those of us in Canada, several channels (HULU, etc) can not be seen
online. It is annoying :(

Darn. I cannot get the Smithsonian channel here in the LA area unless I upgrade my cable DirectTV service to "premium". I will have to purchase them from Amazon at a later date. Which means I have to upgrade my computer software too, as I think I need ITunes or something.

I am looking forward to seeing all of them.

You shouldn't have to do any software downloads to watch via Amazon as it streams direct to your computer like a YouTube video. Amazon and iTunes are separate so you won't need the iTunes program to watch anything from Amazon. We use Amazon instant video a lot here so let me know if you have any issues.
