Need help decifering a date on a manufacturing label for men's coat

Hello!

I have what I believe is a very old frock coat that is part of a Knights Templar uniform. I thought it was from 1920 - 1930. There is a label in the chest pocket that gives a date of 2/19-7. I do not know what the dash stands for. Can you enlighten me?

Thank you! DSC_0866.JPG

Just a guess but perhaps February, 1907.

The other option is that it isn't a date at all but instead an order number, customer number, or style number.

Yes, 1907 makes the most sense to me, but the pants have both buttons for suspenders and also belt loops and I thought belt loops were not used until 1920. I suppose it could be an order or style number placed in the area where it indicates date but I feel that is less likely, judging from the way in which it is indicated, looking so much like a date and in the space where the date should go.

It would be helpful for us to the see the garment to figure out if 1907 is a date or something else. We are kind of flying blind and I do think you might get more input if you can show some photos.

I have had tailor's tags on many suits where the person filling in the info didn't really pay attention to what went where - if that makes sense.

I was wondering if the dash was a typo, in which case it could be 1917, 1927, 1937… so I did s search on typewriter keyboard history, and while the letters are standardized by the 1890s, the other marks are not - brackets, dashes, asterix, exclamation marks, etc. and seem to be put wherever the manufacturer thinks is best. Quote marks are most commonly found over the two, but I also found the hash tag and dash mark (see below). So I bet the date on the tailor's tag could be 1917, 1927, or 1937, and it is just a typo because the person typing touched the upper case key at the same time as the number key.

my brain would never have come up with that. bow down wave

Ha! I bet you are right! I will post pics anyway just to get your opinion on which of those decades makes most sense. I need to get them from my laptop and not my iPad so it will be a bit later. Thank you!
