Yes, we just saw this on the news. Sad news, but his designs live on in the VFG.
Very sad news. I always have looked to him for simply beautiful, non-gimmicky clothing that I would love to wear.

Maybe we could do a home page feature and a Fashion Parade type thread of some of his garments we have sold over the years. He was one of the greats.

I was impressed with how devoted he was to his fashion through his long struggle with cancer.
A great loss. Such a fine man, such beautiful clothes.

It was sad to hear of his passing, but just think what the fashion world would have lost not to have ever known him! And, he was a Class Act.....most refreshing in today's world! Maybe we could do a Fashion Parade Theme devoted to spotlighting his fashion genius. I have enjoyed seeing the lovely items in this thread. RIP Mr. De La Renta.

Jody - I once had a chance to buy the mini verison of that dress! But the theatre let the young apprentices buy first as a thank you to kids who weren't getting paid. It had the coolest metal trim as I recall.
