It looks very high style 80s to me. Odd that the faded tag says West Germany and the Star tag says Italy.

You are welcome. I think it's a great topic for comment and discussion.
I am so fortunate in that I don't have a chronic illness to deal with. But I can still relate to much of what you wrote. My biggest barrier to wearing as much vintage at this point in my life is that favorite pieces in my...
Did you know that the VFG has a blog, regularly updated with articles and videos? Some pieces share our YouTube reels with website visitors, some highlight a piece of vintage fashion history, and some offer a personal perspective on an aspect of vintage fashion, rather like an opinion piece in...

The second one looks like crochet, and I think the fourth is dotted swiss fabric with lace connecting and edging.
From a 2018 post by our resident fur expert, VFG member Caryn @furwise "The fur label authority label and the number on it would not help in determining who the maker was. It was used to ascertain that fur garments were made under fair labor standards and complied with the fur products labeling...
FC is a multi-seller platform specializing in vintage, and is indeed a VFG member. It is my impression that FC's label archive uses labels from their various sellers, and also uses the seller's dating. Similarly to other venues like Etsy, eBay, Poshmark, etc, a seller's dating may - or may not...
Welcome to the VFG forum, @CincyDave ! We love when our forums turn up family connections. Tagging @Ranch Queen Vintage who may want to collect this information for the Label Resource. Do you have any of Aunt Esther's garments, or photographs?

Nice trench coat! I see we have another Made in Canada Aquascutum coat in our Label Resource from an 80s coat, but the label is slightly different. Trench coats are so classic they can be difficult to date, for me at least. I did find another "Aqua 5" coat online with...

I am lace impaired. I browsed through the lace section of my copy of Pickens' Dictionary of Costume and Fashion - my best guess based on their illustrations would be shadow lace. But I bet not. Any lace experts like to weigh in?
According to the VFG Label Resource entry on United Hatters & Millinery Workers Union, they were folded into the ACTWU in 1983, so your Stetson should predate that. Donna's info about the use of the pictorial liner narrows it to no earlier than 1970s.
So 70s to early 80s.
