What's a more... appetizing way of describing the color? Also...

There's something a little 'Rhinestone Cowboy' about them, but what really has me stumped is the shape - never seen anything like it, with the higer shaft in front. Real, working cowboy boots tend to be high...
Thanks Andrea and Jonathan -
Cloche-style it is :)
Here's a snap of the label - I assume it confirms that the hat is post-1960?

Carolyn
What I don't know about hats is a lot - I have biographical info on Lilly Dache, but is there a name for this style? How would you describe it?

I am NOT a believer in the credo 'Pain makes you beautiful' - in my experience pain makes you walk/sit/stand funny & you usually have an unpleasant grimace on your face... nothing pretty about any of that!
I tried on a pair of Manolos a few months ago during one of my blessedly rare...
Why, you all constitue a veritable fountain of ideas, don't you? And so funny - a regular comedy troupe. :)
Marc's Audrey Chanel Tweed Disney Top!

Carolyn
P.S. Believe it or not - and please don't think me greedy, but - I'm still stuck for a useable...
Bergdorfs pink/blue tweed top - can\'t get a handle on it ~
It's a cutie, and there's been a lot in the press about pastel tweedy things (??!) - but I can't come up with a title that'll keep this from getting lost in the sea of eBay -

40\'s rayon blouse detail - what\'s this called?
This back detail -

I should know this and it's possible I DO know it, but I'm suffering from 'brain freeze'.
Here's the blouse ~

Mary, that is gorgeous! Especially love the print.
It looks like silk chiffon to me; what makes you think it's not (what are they 'rayon qualities)?
I'd say 30's too, but wait for more educated opinions on that :)
Carolyn
Well, I took the plunge and listed the boots - with a healthy reserve. If they don't sell now, I'll banish them til August.
Thanks for your help with them, and if anything about the auction strikes you as 'off' or just plain embarassing -- don't be shy, let me know!
:)
Carolyn
Christine -
Stop torturing yourself over the pics, they show the dress beautifully! Any advice I'd offer re: the date would be a shot in the dark, so I'll refrain.
It's such a gorgeous dress! I hope to see tiny fairy Princesses from all over the world fighting over it :)
Carolyn
Thanks for the teriffic reviews, Jonathan! Not teriffic as in 'rave' (obviously), but it's always a pleasure to read a concise, fluent review written by someone with actual point of view :)
Carolyn
Hey Michelle! - Good to see you!
And thanks for your great comments. I'm torn... list now or list later (say, August)?? I agree with Steph about the stretchy mesh - it really is spring-like. And if I can finagle the term 'spectator' in there, well it's so Now and Wow and what have...
Hey everybody!
I've fallen (behind) and I can't catch up! Only one cure for this - a little vodka on the rocks (no fruit - love it when bartenders or waiters ask 'would you like some fruit with that?' I mean what do they think this is, breakfast? 'Cause it isn't. Usually).
And Ar, I've...
I've wondered the same thing, Carolyne - by the time the trend is in the stores (& on Ebay in vintage) it's essentially over... excellent point & thanks for reminding me (& everyone).
And thank you everyone for your help. Fall, eh? (*sniff*) Guess I'll have to turn to the mountian of...
Jeez, Louise!
Sorry, couldn't resist ~
What you're wearing in every one of those pics suits you so beautifully - you were made to wear vintage, or vice-versa :)
The one of you in London wearing the navy dress is an especially great photo in all ways. Are you available to be a...
LOL - I was wondering about the freezer, too - thought, hmmm, I doubt they have moths... :)
I can't say if the first is lizard or snakeskin - leaning towards lizard but can't tell you why. But it looks late 60's or early 70's to me - it's the saddlebag shape and the harness-type...

So 70's and not a style that's remotely trendy this season - but there must be a market for them, right? :) They're new old stock. The legs are stretchy, slightly sheer mesh.
Here's how they...
That's really an atypical Costa - so restrained, in all ways!
I don't think that's a very recent label of his... I'd look into it but I've got to catch a plane :)
Regardless, I think it's perfect for this season - Pretty with a capital 'P' ~
Carolyn
Thanks all -
I'll try your suggestions for removing the gunky stuff :)
Liz - Despite the '6' marked on the inside, they're stamped 7 on the bottom - and they fit like perfect size 7's. I almost wore them to the wedding I went to in Florida - they looked fabulous with my dress...
