    Mysterious couture jumpsuit.

I know this is a long shot, does anyone think this resembles a certain designer's work? It has a Clair zipper, so I think it's French. It's made from Sari silk, with little peacocks on it. All the other garments at the estate sale sale were high quality, with a handful of long forgotten...

    Question about photos...

Has anyone seen an image (or more) of ladies protesting the length of skirts, from the late 40's? I cannot recall where or when I saw it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Sincerely, Sandi

Penney's dress, union labels, and Penney's label ??

Penney\'s dress, union labels, and Penney\'s label ?? :puzzled: Labels are throwing me for a loop, and the dress is so plain. What date say you? And why the paper labels?? Why the paper union label?? (I think that is what it is) It is a very lightweight rayon, almost sheer...

    In a land called 1990-ish...

There were these shoes that Nordstrom sold. And a young foolish girl liked to buy shoes that did not necessarily fit, as much as she had to have them. Today, however, this OLD foolish girl would seek them in her living size of (vintage) European 39 or 40. These were quite...

    Moral dilemma about labels.

Just picked up these two suits. Only one has a label, though I am ABSOLUTELY certain they are both Claude Montana. May I, with a clear conscience, say the one without is a Claude Montana? The care labels match, and the silhouette where a label should be (on the lavender suit) is the same...

    Shoes help!

For some reason these look older than the 70's to me. Could they be? Thank you! Sandi

Men's suit and shoes date help!

Men\'s suit and shoes date help! The labels are throwing me! The shoes are union made. I am inclined to say early 60's on the shoes, except the size stamp is making me doubt. And you can't really tell from the photo, but they are pretty pointy. Maybe they are 80's...

    Dates...and a label question.

This dress is shouting 1918, to me. Or am I deaf? I don't see a union label. The brand, I have never seen, and nothing came up in a search on this coat. Is it newer? I am thinking 60's. I know this sounds stupid, could this "Made in France" label be...

    Men's scarf?

Men\'s scarf? Pardon the wrinkles! Could this be a men's tuxedo scarf-thingamabob? It's made like a couple others I have, though much larger. There are no tags, no printed name. Thank you, Sandi

    Storing your stock...

How do you store yours? Anyone have some suggestions? I have a rack in the garage but it won't hold too much more weight, and my closets inside are jam packed! I am considering building something more permanent in the garage, and enclosed. (Preferably cedar lined.) Besides, I'd have to...

    Reunited?

Bought the jacket about a year ago, at Goodwill, found the skirt last week at possibly, the same Goodwill!! They match really well, but the waist sizes might be too different. I am always sad to see a suit split up!

    FUR!

I have an opportunity to buy some fur hats, I am completely inexperienced, except knowing what furs are illegal. (I think?) Personally, I mostly stay away from fur, anything. Unless I like the cut/drape. (40's ish) And fur hats, to me, seem, unseemly! Are there desirable furs? Or...

    Asian Vintage...

Do you ever pick up asian vintage? I always wonder if I should get it, when I see it. Example: there are a couple of 70's Korean maxi skirts at a thrift shop nearby. I am wondering if I should get them. Sandi

What do you call those all net head toppers/ hats? I thought they were called fascinators... But now I dunno! Somewhere around here I have a really neat one (until a cat attacked it :( ) with little black birds and an Ungar label. And what is a "fascinator"? Thank you! Sandi

    Lingerie, help!

Hi! I couldn't pass this up! I think this is 70's. I can find no tags, and have you ever come across a set with a cape?? Plus, there was a little old lady (Literally!) up the aisle who saw it and said " You need a bedmate, for that." ! I agreed with her! :hysterical:

Hart, Schaffner & Marx Tuxedo with tails. 1910??

Other than the Hart, Schaffner & Marx label, there is a Denver store name, I cannot make out. No union label that I see. On the Hart, Schaffner & Marx label there is a date, I see Mar.......and what MIGHT be 1910. Are there any other identifying details? Such as the rick rack, on the vest...

First off, thank you fuzzielizzie, for the article you wrote! I didn't know circle skirts could be had in such a manner!! Secondly, sorry for the hasty images! Third, what would you do with it? I would love to put it together, yet I don't want to cut it to my size (I'm too large), it...

Best way to measure a swimsuit??

I have a couple of suits, 40'-50's, one is marked a 34, I think I can list it as a small. The other is unmarked, and the stretchiness, in both, is VERY there. Like a girdle. Any suggestions on measuring, without buying a mannequin? I can get one, I just thought someone might have a trick to it...

    Late 60's? Geoffrey Beene.

Late 60\'s? Geoffrey Beene. My brain is fuzzing, and this is so very simple. It looks like late 60's. Could it be later? Nylon/ plastic zipper. And why isn't the skirt part lined too?? Thank you! ~Sandi

    70's Miss Oregon/Miss America memorabilia....

70\'s Miss Oregon/Miss America memorabilia.... I feel bad about splitting the stuff up. I don't think the red and white swimsuit would be wanted, and I'm not even certain the rhinestone outfit was used in competition. Tell me it's okay for them to part? Or are they not really...
