Hi everyone I am new here and a Canadian as well. I became a fan of Vintage clothing last year when I found a Bleeker Street dress in a thrift store for 49 cents. Ever since then I am on the hunt for treasures.
I just posted a question asking for help dating/naming a sun top in the other section -- but thought that I would come here and introduce myself --
I live in Colorado (metro Denver and Ft. Collins) and Arizona (Tucson) - a few years ago I started selling mostly vintage (along with some new Ralph Lauren) on EBAY --did that for a year and a half - along with a couple of vintage trunk shows -- stopped for a couple of years and am now back --
Planning to sell vintage on Etsy -- open up another online store for some new classics -- and eventually start a blog -- anyway --I just wanted to say Hello!!!
I'm a student from Romania and I've recently developed a great love for vintage. I've been thrifting for years, but only recently I started learning and appreciating real old pieces. Most of my vintage shopping is online[here the oldest stuff you can find in thrift stores is from the 70s if lucky and there are no vintage stores yet or estate sales] and I'd like to learn through this forum to identify and date items better. I've learned a lot during the past months, but there's still so much to learn!
Thanks for reading and I hope we'll have plenty of nice chats!
Greetings. There are many members here who are SO knowledgeable. Do you find any older textiles where you live? When I think of vintage and Romania, it is the fabrics and embroidery that come to mind.
Hi, coquelicot, and welcome to the forum! Gosh, all the way from Bucharest. I'm curious, too, about whether you find much in the way of older Romanian textiles. I love that red embroidery!
Looking forward to your questions about any sort of vintage ...
