Greetings from Minnesota and Arizona, USA.

After years of owning an interior design business, buying goods for clients and myself, it's time to let go and allow others to enjoy these beautiful items.

My lovely fiancé died unexpectedly in 2021. He showered me with wonderful gifts. It's going to be a journey parting with these items but also a way to relive the joy of receiving his gifts.

My items are varied! Fine furniture and accessories, art, fabrics, vintage watches, furs and more.

Thank you for having me on the forum. I look forward to getting to know you!

Hello everyone, This account will be run by a few gals from the same family. My sister and I were raised by our grandparents and great grandparents so our favorite fashion tends to be vintage especially when we dress up. Everyone has passed now, but our eyes are still drawn to the same thing - Vintage! Due to prices, I've been buying 40's and 50's vintage remakes since my early 20's, but my sister (likes 60's, 80's) and I have lately realized (perhaps a bit too late - ha!) that Thrift Stores, Salvation Army, and Goodwill have some amazing, and truly vintage finds. We've traveled to several places in the past few months in our spare time. Some of our favorites include: a 1960's beaded purse, a 1980's boned bodice dress, and several furs (usually dyed, but still fabulous) etc. I found a hand-sewn baby bonnet falling apart, but still adorable. Had to have it!! The quality of vintage is just remarkable to look at. I looked at a Lillie Rubin dress last night my sister purchased for like 10 minutes just appreciating the attention to detail. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and tell you a bit about us!
Welcome ladies, we're glad to have you with us!

Hello everyone,

I'm Bussinada, from Sardinia, an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. My wife Francesca and I are thrift enthusiasts, and we especially love vintage garments. Searching for these treasures is truly an adventure!

I'm almost in the middle of my life, approaching my 50s, and I've got some great items that turned vintage while sitting in my wardrobe. I love them—they seem to have a never-ending appeal and durability!
Welcome Bussinada, a big wave to you in Sardinia from over here in Wisconsin USA!

Welcome Bussinada, a big wave to you in Sardinia from over here in Wisconsin USA!
Greetings! I love Sardinia. I can't wait to see what you post.

I've been to a few markets in Rome, Florence and Tuscany. I've purchased some scarves and tapestries but not much more than that.

Show us your goodies! :)

Hi Gloria, I am sorry for your loss! We're very glad you joined us, and I hope we can be of help along this journey ahead of you.
Thank you so much. My fiance was my HS Sweetheart and found me when I turned 50 and was single. He and I were made for each other. We postponed our wedding due to Covid but had some great years together.
He doted on me and wanted to foster my creativity. He bought so many beautiful items for me to work on which is why I have all these lovely things.
It's time to let go. I can use the money. And, it's wonderful to meet such nice people as you.
Thank you, BlackLotusVintage.

Hey there everyone!

My name is Dana. I've been thrifting since I was a child with my family. I grew up wearing the hand-me-downs of friends and neighbors. Recently, my partner was laid of from his job and we had to quickly pivot to make ends meet. Now, I'm back to thrifting to make ends meet for my family! It's full circle. I've always loved finding treasures and learning about their histories. Which brings me to how I've found this wonderful forum. I found a beautiful fur coat at a thrift for only $25! But the brand has been somewhat elusive to me... and I have virtually no knowledge of furs.

I've already bookmarked this site to come back and reference over and over and over. LOL

Anyway, it's a pleasure to join and I'm grateful for the vast wealth of knowledge this group brings.

Welcome, Dana!

So many of us have similar stories of how we started. I consider myself lucky to have developed an interest early. And, our skill serves is now.

I'm new here as well and amazed at the generosity and knowledge here.

Welcome!
Gloria

Welcome Dana. You did an excellent job of posting photos of your fur coat find and there are a number of members in the VFG who have a huge knowledge of furs. One of them should be along shortly to answer your question. Meanwhile, please continue to share your thrift shop finds and questions. We all learn in the process and we all enjoy seeing what others have discovered.

Greetings fellow vintage collectors. I've always had an appreciation for "old stuff," but the items I'm interested in seem to shift as I mature. When I was younger I was particularly interested in antique furniture. I loved refinishing salvaged wood furniture that no one else wanted. For health reasons, I no longer refinish furniture, but my love for vintage and antique items remains. More recently I've been delving into vintage fashion - purses, jewelry, clothing, etc. I'm newer at this, so I really appreciate that this resource exists. Thank you for welcoming me and for permitting me to peruse the forums. I can tell there is a lot of knowledge floating around in here and I appreciate everyone sharing.

Hello, Miss Salty. Welcome from another newbie. This site is simply amazing and offers a wealth of information.
Glad to have you here.

Hi Everyone! I am excited to join this forum. I have a question, and I am so excited to get your feedback. I love neon and checkers (rare to find in combination these days). I spotted this at an antique sale and wanted your thoughts on authenticity. It is really leather and heavy hardware. Escada.
