Hi,
I have been very interested in vintage in recent years but since I live in Ireland, there are very view places to buy.Great purchases have included a black velvet opera coat for £20sterling, a Rochas bag for15euro and a Jacqmar scarf for 7euro. Not bad for a beginner??!!!

:clapping:Hi everyone, I just joined and am just introducing myself. My name is Linda and I own a vintage clothing shop on Long Island, NY. I've been collecting for many years and when my collection over flowed and decided it was time to open up a shop. My shop gives me the opportunity to meet with wonderful, passionate collectors. I have great treasures from 1920's to 1970's. I'm always looking to learn more about the clothing so I'm so excited about joining.
I loved reading everyone comments. You all sound so friendly and helpful. I must admit this is alittle overwhelming, since I'm not so computer saavy. I'm looking forward to learning alot and meeting new friends.
Thank everyone, Linda:hiya:

Hello to both of you!

TresChic (sorry I don't know your name) your finds sound super. It's just the start of a slippery slope you realise.. You#ll have to let us know what else you find! :)

Linda, it's great to have you here. :hiya: Don't worry about the whole technology thing, a lot of us are or were in the same boat! Your shop sounds like I want to take a look around.. shame I am overseas! :D

Hi Brigitte,
. . The forums have merged but there is still a trade member private forum, you should see these highlighted in blue .

If it has been a while since you logged in, perhaps there is someting to do with the merge. I am not sure. I will report this to someone who should be able to help.

:hiya: Hi, I was sent here by a friend and I've been having so much fun reading. Lots of info on here!
I have been dressing/collecting vintage for over 10 years and have gone from only 40's-50's to loving 70's hippie style and 80's new wave.
I currently sell at the Rose Bowl flea market in Pasadena California. I stopped selling on ebay 3 years ago because clothing is such a pain to sell but I hope to force myself to get back to ebay soon!

Hello all!

I found this place through a google search when I purchased a pair of Lucite peep-toe shoes and decided to "Ask Ms Vintage" about the date on them and she graciously posted my question and answered. I have been coming across items in my estate sale finds and often need help in identifying them. This seems like a very good place for that. I have also used the search at VFG to purchase some nice items from the sellers that have their sites posted.

I love vintage clothing and am glad to find a place with such excellent resources. I would like to sell a few of these items on eBay but I do need help with dating and such.
Nadine

Welcome Nadine and to all the new faces. This is a great place for all your vintage questions & comments. And thanks Nadine for shopping with VFG members!
