I LOVE this thread as well. Can't get enough of the photos. And I never knew that about the cuffs and the deep waist band. Makes sense!

Great finds, Linda! Thank you for keeping this thread vibrant with your discoveries...it is an education for all of us here.

Looks like those Michael Simon sweaters will be a future collectible....they are pretty adorable!

I love these beaded cardigans too. And to imagine that some women made them themselves, with the embroidery - wow! I've not yet seen a pattern like the one you show before.

Love that Indian motif one, Linda! The Bradley is adorable too and what a great saying on the Bradley label!

How wonderful is that seeing them all hung up on the clothes line!

    Good luck for tomorrow, Linda!

    That 80s sweater is wild!

The 50s set looks to be in great shape...I remember that shade of pink from the early 60s as well.

I'd totally wear that 50's set to go skiing in! Fluorescent is always in fashion on the slopes.

I will share some of my 80's sweaters with you Linda one day, I think I like the outrageous 'it's so bad it's good' ones as much as you do!

That sweater Evelyn Keyes is wearing is amazing, Linda.

  17. I used to wear a bullet bra - my original '50s version pointed off in slightly outward directions so that I would bang my arms on them, and poke them into people unsuspectingly. It was very odd, although I have to say that you're right Linda - it got me lots of attention!

Yes I used to wear one too, though I never found an original one to fit me, so wore a conical repro version. They make 50s clothing sit just right, though I found I needed a slightly softer shape for under sweaters, the very pointy ones looked a bit odd.

I just found this on the VFG's Sweater Girl pinterest board:

I'd never thought of the 80's novelty jumpers as retro styles but of course you can see the inspiration clearly from the 40's LIFE cover above!
