Hi I’m Cath, I’ve been collecting vintage clothing for about 15 years although I had items from the women in my family from before that. I’m excited to be here to learn. I also know that at some point I’ll have to sell some of my collection, it’s becoming a bit much to store… so I’m interested in how that works

Hello everyone My name is Kate. (edited by admin: no links allowed by registered vistors, that privelege is for VFG Trade Members only) I joined here to track authentic fashion!
I love vintage fashion. And I often buy clothes from vintage.

Hello! I'm a vintage fashion enthusiast with a special interest in 60s/70s Laura Ashley, based in London.

My most recent jackpot was an original Carnaby Street Mary Quant minidress, picked up for a song and worn out for my 30th birthday. Clothes are made to be worn!

Been using the label resource for years and thought I should get around to joining the forums. So, hello :)

@lorelei Glad you decided to join us Lorelei. I lived just off King's Road in the early 70s and wore lots of Laura Ashley. I've sold it all! Feel free to post any of your favorite finds or ask questions. We can't tell you how much something is worth ( see forum rules - https://forums.vintagefashionguild.org/pages/Welcome-to-the-VFG-Forums-please-read/ ) But we are happy to try to answer questions about vintage accessories and/or clothing if you need assistance.

So thankful to have found a group of fashion nerds like myself. I have clothes coming out my ears . Located in Central Pennsylvania I have been a buyer seller of vintage and antique fashions for over a decade. I often struggle with dating childrens clothing and also costume jewelry. Looking forward to making friends and increasing my knowledge.

Hello! My name is Louisa Anne - my friends call me Lo! I just stumbled upon this forum site and am happy to see a place with so many other vintage lovers! I have loved vintage inspired looks since 2014 and have been wearing vintage style full time since 2019. My favorite eras to dress from are the 1940s and 1950s, but I have also recently become very interested in the 1930s and 1890s-1900s (Edwardian era)! :)

Hi, I'm Mary Beth. I mainly collect vintage sewing patterns but recently my sister sent me some dresses of my mothers and grandmothers. Mom had a Chester Weinberg - My grandmother had some beautiful 1920s & 30s dresses! I look forward to learning!

Hello, I'm Sara Halpert. I'm the Archivist at Southwestern Law School which is located in the building that was formerly home to Bullocks Wilshire. We've been collecting vintage fashion items from Bullocks Wilshire and I had the pleasure of meeting Marsha Perloff and some other VFG members when I gave a tour to a few of the vintage sellers who we had sourced our new collection from. You can read about it in the VFG Spring issue. I've got a preliminary Flikr album of some of the items available as a resource here https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAtPPe and will be adding more soon. I come from a Museum and Archives background but not so much a fashion background so any dating included on the album is purely from the information given to us by the seller. Please let me know if there's an error in the dating or if you can give an approximate date to any of the undated items. Let me know if you want to talk Bullocks Wilshire. We also accept donations of Bullocks Wilshire items. You can contact me at [email protected]. I'll also be regularly updating the BW labels when I come across a new one. Thanks!

Hello Sara!

What a great job to have! I recently learned that one of our members (Jessica @No Accounting For Taste) has a law degree from Southwestern Law School, and it was there that she fell in love with vintage fashion and architecture. It's such an inspiring place!

I took a quick look through some of your images and the only thing I noticed in that first pass was 15.3 Orange Mod Peacoat by Hurwitz Couture which is not a peacoat and not really mod either. A peacoat is double-breasted—this is a good example: 52.3 Navy Peacoat with Red Lining.
