Hello :)
Just thought I'd post this as it's local to me and I've lent a few dresses.. but even if I hadn't I would be looking forward to it!
In a gorgeous Elizabethan house and grounds in Lincolnshire, it runs throughout August and having met the organiser I think it will be really...
I want all of it!
Wedding dress obsessive that I am, the collection got a bit out of hand and I sell from our vintage Bridal Salon here in Lincoln: for more info check out http://www.tastyvintage.com
A small example of current stock:
And lots more waiting!:
Can't...
Yes, that fluttery papery feeling makes my heart sink :( If you can't use for pattern cutting as too fragile perhaps find a similar paper pattern to give to a seamstress along with the salvaged lace sections.
And of course these pictures and original photos if you can get them should be kept...
hi heather! it's amazing how easily it happens. ang is correct - have u2u'd you. also if you have things that aren't necessarily worth selling individually i had considered doing a rummage style sale at my shop. maybe you could do similar at the university? get in touch with the students union...
I've had a rtw dress from the house of worth, label isn't in the resource (mine was capitals with a red 'w' i think) but it did definitely have the grosvenor st, w1 address on it too.
I'd agree that it's 60s, but possibly an unrelated worth! really nice top :)
New shop is nearly ready to open, and I'm about to start listing autumn/winter stuff on the website so decided to have a little 'end of season' sale on ebay with auctions and reduced price buy it nows...
Check out the listings here, more to come over the week...
late 60s or early 70s (can't see if that's a print or broderie anglaise?) would make sense to me - the seamstress tailoring probably accounts for the 'better' stitchwork?
but do wait for soemone else to confirm, I am feeling rusty..
very pretty! :)
They are lovely Maggie! Have seen both before, i had a gorgeous brown lace late 60s Harold Levine (same label) a few years ago and I am trying to remember if I managed to find anything out about the label> I have a feeling i found a mention in a catwalk report.. I asked here at the time so will...
It's something like 'on the mountain/meadow' (auf der Alm) there is no sound? or a sound? Don't know what ka means, think sund is sound..
shaky german!
Jonathan, you're right. I can't tell you how much this has tested me! I feel like i am doing an impossible jigsaw.
Will attempt to post a selection and maybe get a second opinion before I add to the auction - thank you!
Jonathan I have a suitcase full of various collars and gauntlet cuffs and because I had spent so long (about 3 years!) trying to match up the correct ones to each uniform i gave up and listed as it stands. However, I was going to give the winning bidder the option of what I *think* could be a...
Thanks! I have quite a few and I've huing on to them for ages, all from the same lady and they range from 20s up to 50s at latest I think. I've had a hard time researching though.. googling nurses uniform turns up some interesting sites as I think I say in the description! In the end I am pretty...
Never, ever organised enough to sneak preview these, sorry(*slaps own wrist*) but I am moving premises so am having a little purge of shop stock in the hope I'll have a bit less to shift - plus I have new stock waiting to come out at the new shop!
Collecting more to photograph tomorrow so...
"When I see a suit that distinctive it makes me wish even more that I were employed so I could wear it to work."
Half the reason I opened a b+m!!
Love the colour Jody. Caped suits are definitely the way to go!
I think pop do both - as as well as their own label which as you say 'looks' vintage they wholesale 'proper' vintage too I believe, rag house style.
I think you'd do well to turn one of the shops over to retro, you've got the students there and as Maryalice points out they are the ones at...
bravo maggie! - i too have been eagerly awaiting a standalone site from you as i knew it would be wonderful. can't wait to see what else you'll list! :)
