Yes they are fabulous! The inside reads 'fabulous So Bel creations Beverly Hills New York' the right shoe reads ' c.h. baker California too smart for words'. I believe they are late 1940s early 1950s but I'm not an expert and I would love any in put as to their actual age.

These are a fews other pictures of some amazing finds. I'm not sure of the exact era of the white polka dot with black straps, it is of fine weight and quality. It is clearly professionally made but no tag remains. The polka dot with 'rolled' collar, I believe to be a late 1950s early 1960s but I cannot be sure. There is a tag on this one of an unknown name.

Thank you Mary Jane!

The pumps are slightly big but I purchased gel inserts that have conformed the shoes to my feet. The dress with black straps and black ribbon detail I believe originally had a belt. I saw one just like it a few months ago and it had a label. I was expecting for this one to have the same label when I purchased it but I didn't find one.

I love shopping vintage! I spend my hard earned modest income on my finds.

I find I prefer dresses with labels even if the name is unknown because a professionally made garment guarantees a certain amount of quality. I do purchase garments without labels if there is sufficient evidence that the garment was professionally made.

I do not own or wear couture because like diamonds I believe those garments to be for a mature more refined woman. I'm still too young for those luxuries, I prefer to run around in novelty cotton dresses and ballet flats for now.

I'm going to be searching the vfg member shops for some dresses. I'm also going to spend some time on the 'most wanted' section as I'm always on the hunt for certain styles and names.

You are all so welcoming! Thank you so much! Happy I joined!

Hello everyone! I've browsed around the forums before, but decided it was time to join. I've found these forums to be a wonderful source of information for me, but I expect to have many more questions for everyone! I recently came into an inheritance of my great-aunts large collection of clothing, and wanted to do some research on it before deciding whether I should keep it or sell it. I'm really excited to learn about these beautiful garments, and as soon as I figure out how to take decent pictures of it I'll be posting some things! I've been having trouble finding information or comparable pieces to some things, and am looking forward to some knowledgeable feedback.

Hello all, nice to meet you. I've been browsing for a while, but newly registered. I'm an admirer of vintage clothing, who has barely dipped her toe into buying and wearing in public! I find these forums to be a great resource and source of inspiration, so thank you.

TextHi,

My name is Laura and I am addicted to jewelry. Yes, it's true...there are no 12 step programs that can save me now! I make, collect, buy and sell jewelry.

In 2005, I stumbled upon vintage costume jewelry while searching for old beads to recycle into new creations. Incidentally, at the same time, my husband and I quit our full-time jobs to start our own legal business. However, this was at the exact same time that I was at exit, stage-left with my new addiction!

It became clear very soon that vintage costume jewelry had more value if I did not recycle the beads and left the piece as it was. I am pleased to say that I only recycled three pieces. I jokingly tell others that I used to collect kids (4), and now I collect jewelry!

My travels along this fabulous journey continue. Looking forward to learning new things and meeting new people.

Hahaha!

Hi welcome Laura! I am sure you will love it here 100%

Good one on collecting kids! I think I will borrow that with your permission. It is alway good to have some jewelry advocates here as their help is needed often!

Welcome again and we hope to see you in the forums
