Hello!!! I'm Ilaria and I live in Italy. Sorry for my English..I try! I have been working for several years for a fashion foundation "Roberto Capucci Foundation" where I organize exhibitions and events. Fashion and events about fashion are my job, vintage is one of my hobby (I have a small personal collection) and sometimes I wear vintage pieces.
I find the site a source very precise and rich
Thank you!!

Hello! I'm excited to be here! I have browsed the website before and have it saved in my favs! I have learned lots of valuable information here and have even shared the site with a few friends. I look forward to browsing the forums here and also look forward to meeting some new friends too!

I'm new. I've loved vintage my entire life and mostly have always bought it for personal use. Now I'm trying to unload some of my stuff because I have too much! I've used the resources here before but will need some help on a couple things that I can't find any resources on.

Looking forward to interacting with other vintage lovers!

Hi there,

This is Alessia, I am the fashion editor for a luxury magazine in Milan with a passion for vintage. Going to the shows in Milan it is clear to see that the vintage influence on today's designers is stronger than it has ever been.

Check out our latest article on how high fashion is taking cues from the 1920s, 1950s, 1960s and 1970s for new Spring/Summer 2012. I'm sure vintage shoppers will be looking for the original s0urces of these clothes at your shops next season!

Hi guys!

I'm a Forum newbie but have been in love with vintage clothing and accessories my whole life. I've been told many times that I live in the wrong decade. Thought I'd join you guys to learn more about clothing and find out a bit more about my own items--a few that I plan to eventually sell on ebay. I'm crazy about '40s fashion and brooches, which I've absorbed through old movies and I can't wait to get to know everyone.

Hello VFG members

Hello, my name is Andrew Swaray. Just registered today. I have been using the VFG label resource page for almost a year and thought it was time to become a forum member. I have been collecting vintage items for 2 years now, and have a lot to learn. Hopefully through this forum I will be able to get help from everyone. I have started to sell vintage items on eBay for 6-7 months with my girlfriend. We are still learning but we have found success with eBay. I have joined the VFG forum to gain a better understanding of the vintage world, as well as to connect with experienced sellers, and collectors, and get their input; as well as build friendships.

I just want to say thank you to all the admins who keep this forum up and running, and to all of the members who I can't wait to interact with.

Hi everyone!
Just joined today, and I can see I'm not going to get much else done today already! Loving these forums so much already!

I'm 25 years old, from Saskatchewan, Canada, I've always loved vintage, have a large collection of Housewares! I just recently started wearing and collecting clothes, considering becoming a seller as well. I can tell this site will be a great help!

Thanks in advance for the education!!

Hi all,
I joined a month or so ago (maybe more now, this year is flying!) I have only really posted once before when I was seeking information on a dress I bought at a vintage fair and got some fantastic help. But I haven't really done much else since then so I thought I would take this opportunity to say 'hi' to everyone. I do collect vintage clothing and accessories however I guess if I were to say I have a ‘speciality’ it would be sewing and anything to do with sewing (I also crochet but not as much). I have a massive vintage & antique sewing pattern collection and I love using them to re-make vintage fashion. I also collect vintage sewing books, sewing accessories & general paraphernalia (shears, machines etc) and research sewing techniques from past eras. When I am making something I always aim to use the techniques of that era.
I sew for myself and my friends and I also design and construct costume for our local community theatre companies, I'm a science teacher by day so sewing is my hobby. So that’s me, if you ever have any questions about vintage sewing techniques etc I can probably help you.
Lovely to meet you all, take care
Miss Wendy:)

Oh & I forgot to say before, at least anything now being classified as vintage is stylish so you can be happy knowing you grew up in a gloriously stylish era, I on the other hand am a high school teacher in a small school where we don't have uniforms and my students are turning up as if they have walked straight out of the 80's, now I was a teenager in the 80's and I can truly say there was nothing good about it and now I have to endure it all over again! My students just don’t get it! EEK!

Hello all, nice to meet you. I've been browsing for a while, but newly registered. I'm an admirer of vintage clothing, who has barely dipped her toe into buying and wearing in public! I find these forums to be a great resource and source of inspiration, so thank you.
Hi! New here too...your name makes me giggle (only just getting over it!)...have fun with it all, may see you around here!
Ali

Hi!
My name is Ali, I am in Australia and have been fiercly gripped by the vintage clothing collecting bug...I don't know much about it, I just know that I love it! It is such a thrill to find a georgeous dress or shoes or piece of fabric...I don't have a beautiful granny to tell me about the past, so I will be spending a lot of time here finding out all I can!
Thanks All :)

Hello everybody :) :hiya:

I've been registered a while and I thought I'd finally start posting. I look forward to learning many new things about vintage clothing and maybe I can help out sometimes too!

Hello, we (Octavia Foundation) registered yesterday we sometimes get some remarkable garments/items donated to our charity shops that sometimes baffle us! We hope to get some friendly advice and also give advice should you need it! :) Thanks

I'm really trying to learn more about vintage pieces and how to date them so I'll be asking lots of quuestions =)

Hello.
I have been looking at the site for a while and finally got around to registering last week. I put up my first post in the forum and am really please at how quickly people replied, thanks for being such a welcoming bunch!
I run an online store full time selling vintage clothing, accessories, homeware and lifestyle stuff, retro lifestyle goodies and select handmade and vintage inspired items by indie designers. I have recently been going through a massive influx of vintage stock and have found the VFG to an invaluable resource.
I love almost anything from the 1920s through to 1950s, especially dresses and kitchenware. My house if full of inherited treaures and things i have collected over the years. I am currently trying to grow my collection of vintage fashion and lifestyle books.

Nice to meet you,
Bella
