Another newbie here, I've been buying some vintage pieces for a few years, but this is the first time I've actually done anything other then lurk on VFG! I'm hoping to expand my knowledge of vintage fashion and housewares - I'm a huge picnic hamper fan! :)

Yes, another young person! Welcome to the world of Vintage Max! I'm 20, and have been collecting and loving vintage since I was about 12. Needless to say, I have a huge private collection. I agree about the quality of vintage clothing, so much better than now!
I love the glamour of the 40s and 50s, do you have a favourite era?

Hi everyone, I'm glad to find this amazing place. I live in Belgium. I always have passion for vintage clothes and I collect dresses from 1940s to 1960s. I hope to learn more knowledge about vintage fashion and how to identify real good garments.

Hi. I decided to join Vintage Fashion Guild to help in my research of items that I find to sell. I am truly fascinated with vintage items (clothing, handbags, shoes, boots, etc.) and may venture more into selling these items in the future. I'm interested in finding more about the Rappi label.

:sunshine:....HI! FROM LINDA MARIE ...I COLLECT AND WEAR MOSTLY VINTAGE CLOTHES...ALWAYS SCOURING THE THRIFT SHOPS AND EBAY FOR SOME GEMS OF THE PAST.......I AM THRILLED TO FIND THIS WEBSITE AND THIS FORUM AND LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING SOME VINTAGE FRIENDS...AND SOME NEW ONES TOO!

Hi!
I just registered here and am new to selling vintage clothing (currently building my ecomemrce store) since I did some work for a rag merchant in exchange for clothing... and looks like there will be more work (and thus more clothes) for the next 6 months at least.

I'm a photographer and website designer by trade, and first got interested in vintage fashion last July by taking pictures of a small local historical society's clothing collection (now an ongoing project).

I want to learn all that I can, and there looks to be TONS of information on this site and your forums!

Hi! I went through a cleaning frenzy a few weeks ago and gave away tons of great stuff I had collected from thrift stores for many years....What was I thinking??? One of the things I kept was a beautiful brown velvet gown. It has a type of corset inside and the label is "Christian Dior CD Models (London) made in Paris. The toggle on the zipper is missing(thanks to my sister trying to squeeze into it) but otherwise looks like new. It's lovely. It's a shame to have it hanging in my closet so I was thinking about maybe trying to sell it? I have no idea what it would be worth or how to go about doing any of it..any suggestions? I'd keep it but after 20 years it must have shrunk in the closet..
Thanks~

Hello- I stumbled upon this site by chance.
I Love Vintage everything! I especially like Handbags. I am excited to read everyone's post and find out more about my vintage stuff that I have collected over the years. :) Looking forward to spending more time on this site.

Hi everyone, I collect vintage items and write a small blog about vintage and charity shopping (thrift shopping) in London, UK. I often stumble across labels and items which I know little about and I'm really looking forward to using the forums to find out more about some of my more mysterious items! :hiya:

Hi Welcome! I am fairly new as well and really have enjoyed this site. The people here have been so helpful and friendly.
looking forward to seeing some of your mysterious items!

Hi! I've been vintage shopping for quite a while and I just got familiar with this great site! Gonna get a quick Q out there right away! Thank you for all the info that made me a bit more educated so far! :)

Hello there,

I have been utilizing your label info for awhile now and am just about to open an online shop so thought Id drop by...

My name is ~*Eli and I am a Talent Scout in the Entertainment Industry and I have collected beautiful items for years that are now vintage *smile* (newly bought at the time).

I recently decided to start collecting vintage things and it became an obsession and now I simply MUST sell tings in order to keep finding them. I travel a great deal so I collect things world wide... but since prior to a few months ago... I simply bought what I liked... now I am scanning labels to confirm from where they came, date the garment and make sure they are truly vintage. It has been quite a learning experience to say the least.

Anyway I have a lot of questions, so you may see me here a great deal!

Wonderful resources you have...thanks for that.

*~Eli

Hi, I'm Jen, and I ran across this site while researching some fabric I found. I sell vintage on etsy but I don't do much with fashion because I don't know enough to do it justice. I'm going to look through your labels help and maybe I can get into the vintage fashion after all. (Can anybody help me with adding an avatar?)

My recent find: a half finished pleated long skirt made of D.B. Fuller Modern Masters fabric featuring a circus scene by Fernand Leger. So far I have found that it is from the mid 1950s, and an article in the November 14, 1955 Life magazine shows designs by several artists in the Modern Masters series. I'm excited to find this fabric/almost garment but I can't find anything else, such as value, etc. The fabric is unwashed very good condition.

So excited to find this site!

Hello. I am cleaning out my mother's house and we have just come across several pieces of antique clothes, circa 1800's. They have not been properly cared for and I am searching out what to do with them. I hope I can find some ideas here. If there are some forums on proper care please point me in the right direction, thanks.

hello all,
My name is Lauren and I am fairly new to the field of vintage fashion. I have been selling on Etsy for several months now and have been researching my clothing on line and I came upon VFG...what a great site you have here. Thanks again,
Lauren

Hi - I'm Becca. I don't know how much time I'll be spending on the forums, because I'm up to my official White Star Lines life vest in research and writing for a book about women's fashions and social history of 1901-1919. I'm sure that the time I do spend here will be informative, though.
