Hello all,
I think this is a 60s mink stole but would like to get a second opinion.
Also, on a separate note, how do you provide measurements for stoles?
Thank you
Victoria
I have never tried it on sweat stains but I plan to. It has worked really well for me on any kind of fruit, coffee and other food/drink stains and in some cases on rust stains. I was shocked at it working on this dress though. I literally sprayed the whole front and without even scrubbing they...
Thank you Mary. I wish I had removed all the buttons. I soaked the skirt part of the dress and it seeped up to them and turned them all brown :(
On the bright side I was able to remove all these giant stains with of all things Wine Away!
Hi all,
I am looking for help with cleaning this wedding dress. I acquired five different gowns, all seem to be from the 50s and was able to clean the other four successfully with Restoration however this one has me stumped. I can usually tell by the stain if it’s dirt and likely to come out...
Hi,
Hoping to get some help with this dress. I thought it was earlier at first. Maybe 40s but now I think it is newer, possibly 60s, after I noticed the back of the belt writing.
Thank you
Victoria
Agree that these are very new.
The original trademark for Ball Band was abandoned in 1992. See here https://trademark.trademarkia.com/ballband-70036151.html
However, I believe yours are this trademark https://trademark.trademarkia.com/ball-band-since-1898-indiana-usa-76560315.html which was...
Hi all,
I purchased this vintage bow maker for myself thinking I can finally have a nice bow on my scarfs. Embarrassed to say I can’t figure out how to use it.
Anyone has any idea?
Thanks
Victoria
Hi all,
I am trying to date this pair of shorts and thought they were late 60s but then I saw on trademarkia that while the business has existed since 1929, the trademark wasn't registered until 1973 so I figured I was wrong and they are likely from the 70s. What keeps bothering me is that all...
Besides trying to treat the stains which in this case won’t work because it has discolored the fabric, do you try to repair them in any other way for example by patching or by removing say the sleeves and deepening the arm hole?
Thanks
Hi all,
I have a few dresses I have acquired over the years that are otherwise amazing and in great condition but for the discoloration on the underarm. What do you typically do in such cases? Is there any trick to repairing or alteration that would preserve the dress without major changes but...
This is the clarification I received:
CD: From the top of the neck to the end of the beading CF. (The beading is vertical and runs up to empire waist level)
CC: from clavicle to belly button
I learned something new :)
Hi all,
I have a customer asking for particular measurements I am not certain about as I am not familiar with the terminology.
CB and Cf to Waist
CB and CC to Waist
CD to waist
I think CB and CF are center back and center front but I can’t find anything about CC or CD besides a reference to...
Hi all,
I am trying to learn a bit more about vintage furs/ stoles. Besides determining the type of fur that it is, which I am still struggling with, I am interested in gauging quality and dating them. Also, I know we don't do specific pricing here on the forum but I would love to learn what...
Thank you all! 40s is definitely more consistent with the age of the person who it belonged to. Does anyone know anything about these eagle buttons? Were they used by a specific designer or brand?
Hi all,
Hoping to get some help dating this dress. Originally, I thought 20s but it belonged to a woman who was a fashion model in the 50s. Also, would you say this is silk rayon?
Thank you
Victoria
Thank you all. It’s the fabric of the white & yellow Kiki Hart dress set, which I believe is cotton, that a customer is questioning. They think it’s polyester. I am pretty sure that it isn’t but wanted to be sure before I respond.
One follow up question, is cloque made of cotton? If that’s not always the case, would you say that the white/ yellow dress above is made of cotton?
Thank you
Victoria
Thank you both. The zipper is actually visible in the picture with the label. There are thin pads with boosters. Here is a photo. The gold thread and other pieces appear woven to me but I can't see the back since the dress is lined.
Is 80s still the consensus?
Hi all,
I was hoping to get some help with dating this dress. I thought it was 60s at first but I am not so sure the more I look at it. I am familiar with the label since it's from around here. It was a high end boutique located in Brookline, Massachusetts near Boston and showcased the designs...
Thank you Melanie! I think you may be right. Maybe it’s size 4 and then the rest may be width or something like that. Is anyone familiar with this brand?
