Hi all,
A few of questions on this dress suit:
1. Is anyone familiar with the Mardi Gras label? It's pretty hard to find anything with a name like this. I saw the little blip in the label resource but wondering if anyone has more info.
2. Would you call this fabric sharkskin, raw silk, and/or...
Mokay, I love hearing first hand stories!!! I am wondering if you (or someone else here) knows anything about these two Sonni hats. I am wondering if they are part of the 20s revival styles from the 80s or earlier ones from the 50s.
Thank you

Hi. Me again. I am thinking this is 70s and that it's maybe an Harlequin collar maxi pinafore dress but not really sure that's what one would call it. Appears handmade. Where were these dresses worn? Theater/ musical performance? Girl from Oklahoma comes to mind. Any suggestions or info would be...
Hi all,
I think this is 60s but wanted to confirm since I believe it is handmade so I guess it could have been made later from an older pattern. Also, what is the term for the fabric pieces in the back? Tails is all that comes to mind and that's not right.
Thank you

Hi all,
I have a few questions about this wedding dress.
1. I thought it was late 30s/ early 40s but something about the sleeves is bothering me as being out of place for that era. What do you think?
2. Is this charmeuse or crepe satin?
3. It's fairly wrinkled and the lace is a bit...
I don't think the handle is very heavy but I guess I am not sure since I have no reference point. It feels slightly heavier than modern day plastic, I think but I may be imaging that.
Thanks
Victoria
Hi all,
I have a few questions about this purse:
1. Is this considered a box purse or is there another name for this hard structured bag which closes with two hard flaps that snap one over the other?
2. What is the outside material? Inside seems to be satin lining but the outside is a duller...
Thank you, Barbara. I love this coat! I don't think it's a knit fabric but then again identifying fabric is something I have a really hard time with. It is a heavy fabric with quite a bit of sheen so alaskine seems like a good match. Shantung, I think is much more lightweight.
Hi all,
I am looking for help with identifying the fabric of this 60s opera coat. The brand is Marcwyn. I thought it's gabardine but it's quite sleek so I am not sure that's right.
Thank you

Hi all,
I have a question regarding this garment. I was convinced this is an outerwear coat until I saw the label that says Lounging Apparel. Upon some online research, I found out that this company made robes, nightgowns and such but I can't possibly imagine that anyone would lounge on the...
Would you agree with 70s on this blouse? There are pretty long slits with ties on each side. No labels besides the Professionally Dry Clean Only tag located in the back neck area.
Thank you

Hi all,
I am hoping to get some help with whether any of these shirt patterns have names and if not, any pointers on how to describe them effectively. I am running out of ideas besides generic adjectives like geometric, abstract, and psychedelic.
Thanks for the help.

Judging by the label, based on the label resource here http://vintagefashionguild.org/label-resource/malihini/ it looks like it's from the 60s even though for some reason, the colors feel more 70s to me.
Hi all,
I have what I believe to be a 60s satin opera coat by Miss Elliette but I received an inquiry regarding the material of the lining and I am not sure. It is a very sleek and shiny fabric which I would have also called satin but looking at the fabric resource pictures, the satin weave...
Special thanks to Cinthia from bycinbyhand for the cleaning tip. She recommended Restoration.
On a separate note, how do you guys photograph dresses like this? I struggled quite a bit and couldn't figure out how to do it justice. It didn't help that it was too small to put on my mannequin but...
