I received this coat in a Maximilian at Bloomingdales garment bag, but the tag was possibly removed on the inside of the coat where the previous owners name is now stitched or there never was a tag. I confirmed it is real fur, and the previous owner was a millionaire so I doubt she cheeped out on
Hi there! I've been researching fur coats trying to figure out what this piece is, but I've come across more questions than answers.
This was one of my grandma's fur coats. My mom said it was purchased in 1989 and is "black sable mink". I told her that sable and mink are both types of fur, and...
Hi everyone, I'm new to vintage fashion but recently bought a vintage coat at a thrift store that I'm absolutely in love with. The coat has a red, white, and blue ILGWU label so I'm guessing it's from the late 70s or later, but the only other label inside the coat is the "dry clean only" care...
I'm looking for a bit of help valuing this "exclusive Robert Piguet" reproduction rain coat for Lawrence of London's Designer Collection. It's a gorgeous, black snakeskin-textured silk swing coat with incredible crossover shawl collar and plaid lining. What a drape on this beauty! I do...
Hello- I found a fabulous royal blue wool waist coat with a zip off cape. The label is missing and I’m trying to date and identify. Any feedback would be helpful! Thanks so much!!
Hi everyone,
I have checked the Fur Resource guide, but I still can't seem to figure this one out. I suppose because so many furs are dyed to look like sable, the colour doesn't help me! It's so so very soft!
Thanks!!
can anyone tell me anything about this coat please? there is no makers label, just 2 emboided letters "D J" as in the photo, they are in the bottom right hand side (if you were wearing the coat) what its made of, era etc. thanks in advance.
I bought this coat recently second hand and was completely stuck to what fur it is as I cannot identify to other images online. It is quite soft and the fur is long. The tag has come of so the designer is unidentifiable and I am also unsure of the era.
Can some one please help me identify the age, make and type of fur of this coat I bought today from a Salvation Army Store in New Zealand. It is definitely vintage, has no label inside except on the inside pocket it has a label that reads D1662.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Hi Team,
I'm from Australia and was shopping at my local OP shop and found this amazing coat. It's a cream Alpaca (Lama) wool coat knee length. I've attached some photos the tags have that 1950s /1960s look and are hand sewn in. The garment was handmade in London. I'm terrible with the shape...
Good evening everyone,
Last week I bought a 'vintage' burberrys coat, but I think it's a fake one :(
Could someone please help me out? I posted some photos of the labels....
Thanks for helping me out!
The coat in question is in my seamstress's possession right now or I'd take a photo. It is black wool with black velvet stripes placed vertically on its "skirt." The sleeves are wide and deeply cuffed. It has nine rather ordinary 1 1/8" buttons down the front (single-breasted); they look like...
Hi There Everyone,
This coat is a bit puzzling to me. It is London Fog and looks to me like it's from the 1980s, but I'm not sure. It has brass buttons with "Canada" and anchors which seems official but it definitely doesn't look like military 'issue'.... Any thoughts?
Thanks for any direction...
Dear All,
I don't know if anybody can help me, but I strongly hope so.
I come from Italy and I've found in my grandma wardrobe a Jacques Heim coat which I'm attaching picture of. I think it is made of silk with leather finishings and belt.
Inside the coat there's another label "PAULE COUTURE...
Hi everyone!
I recently picked up this beautiful coat with a fur collar and have been trying to identify what type of fur it is - maybe fox? The undercoat is very fluffy and striated and the long wispy strands are black/dark brown to white. Also, there is a Henri Bendel tag! Maybe 1940-50s? But...
I am trying to find info on this coat. I notice the label is slightly different than the ones provided here. Has anyone seen a label like this one? Thank you!
Hi Everyone!
It's been a few years since I visited this wonderful, blessed site. Hope everyone is well.
Does anyone have information on a designer named Ann Ferre? I've a winter coat purchased in the early 90s which I never wore and now plan to sell on eBay. In an online search to price the...
Jet black short nap of 1/2 inch or so on this vintage coat.
Fox label as shown from California.
Any help with the fur greatly appreciated in advance. Very shiny and very soft.
It also has an elastic loop to go around the top button.
In the middle at the waist there is an elastic loop on...
So the Lilli Ann coat finally arrived and I grabbed some pictures. Please tell me what you think! Mannequin would be roughly 5'7"/8" with a head. The hand stitching is beautiful, so well done. The photos of the seam show the hem with the lining up and then with the lining down. I personally...
This may seem like an odd question but here goes. I just purchased this Lilli Ann coat in the rare purple colour. I haven't received the coat yet (image is from the listing) however in the description, the length is listed at 42". Other examples of this coat are listed at 45" and some up to 50"...
Does anyone know if Lilli Ann clothing was ever made in Israel? I'm looking at bidding on a coat in an online auction that has a Lilli Ann tag but also has a Made in Israel tag, which seems a little fishy. Any advice would be welcome!
I almost fell over when I found this at my local salvation army (for $9.99:)) I looked through the label resource, and am feeling good about it dating to the early 60's, but would like to be certain. Also, I think the collar is sheared beaver (as it feels very much like a beaver coat I own) but...
I few years ago; I was gifted this coat, shearling/lambswool, I believe . I am trying to date the tag and find out any information on this item. Thank You
London Fog jacket I'm also curious about. The pockets have no additional tags. It's a really nice coat. Very warm, though it is obviously for men. :) If anyone has any thoughts, If or knows what year this might be and the fabrics I would be very grateful.
Hi, All. This Pendleton label does not have the woolmark (pre-1964?). It is very cute. I am dating it at around the early 60s. Does that sound right?
Thanks!
Adam
Hi, All. I have this nice Pendleton unlined, plaid, wool men's coat that was purchased at an estate sale in eastern Oregon. It does have a lined yoke, but the label does not include any sizing info (and obviously no wool mark). My research says that this dates this jacket to around the 30s or...
