I am seeing a LOT of interest in 90s revival - wide leg pants, heavy soled boots, tie-dye, skinny eyebrows... Is that just a local thing or is it where you are too? WHat else is hot?
The men's collection is amazing - it looks like it was made 100 years ago - belted Norfolk jackets, plus fours, three piece tweed suits!

I met Alexandre about 25 years ago when he came to Toronto and he was quite the eccentric with a lot of knowledge. He has since amassed a huge collection of vintage and antique clothing and accessories over the years and does a lot of exhibitions, primarily in Eastern Europe. His latest show...
I am halfway through it, and will binge the rest of it tonight - it is EXCELLENT. The costuming and set decoration are flawless! Here is a link to the trailer:
I am sure its because of the algorithm created by my searches, but recently I have noticed that my news feed on Facebook includes a LOT of businesses that are recreating past styles... That is both good and bad news for vintage dealers...
We are being offered these hats. They come with minimal provenance - they belonged to a great aunt who died in 2003 at the age of 94. She travelled the world from the mid 30s to the mid 60s and these were souvenirs she picked up. I do not know how to date or attribute an origin to them - anyone...
This pic is of a group of young men from the Penman's clothing factory in Paris, Ontario, c. 1893. The triangle on their jerseys is a symbol used by that factory. That much we know. They are dressed for some sporting activity, perhaps a team sport which in 1893 is a fairly new concept - rugby and...
Here's one of the projects we have been working on during this COVID crisis - a new website! It has been in the works for years, but we just never seemed to have time to focus on getting it pulled together.

I paid a good bit of money for this piece (or what I thought was a good bit of money at the time...) I think it was $65.00, and I bought it 30 years ago. It's very 'Hollywood poolside' looking to me, but upon closer inspection I think its ivory. I do see a VERY fine grain to the pieces. I...
I never paid much attention to this pair, I thought they were cheap, but looking closely I can see the beads are glass, and I wonder if these aren't old - 1930s? 2 1/2 inches long, and the brass has some verdigris oxidation:
I got these at a sale years ago for cheap - the seller thought they were 60s, but I think older? The dots are paint, 2 inches long, and I can't tell if the lucite has yellowed with age, or if its supposed to be a pale gold colour:
Here is another one of those strands of beads that I can never decide how old it is. It works well for the 1920s, but something is nagging at me that its probably older. It's 14 inches long, the beads are painted wood, and I think the ring for the closure is a replacement.
