Yep, I went totally nuts with this fur thing but I always go nuts around mom's birthday.
I think this might be muskrat fur?
Unfortunately I think the skins aren't in good shape, I hear crinkling in the shoulders. Mom might insist on mink but I like this fur and the style a lot. I hope something...
So this is the second fur I got for my mom and I don't think it's mink either. I'm guessing Russian squirrel again but less sure on this one. Looking forward to anything you can tell me. This is all so much fun!
Hi, I'm hoping you can help me ID some fur coats I bought.
My mom's 89'th birthday is coming up and she's always wanted a mink coat, I couldn't afford one so I bought a few on e-bay and was pleasantly surprised they are all real fur, now I've got to figure out what type of fur because she will...
Hi there. I’m new to this site and am so intrigued already. Hoping I can get some help on this specific fur coat. What type of fur. Possibly when it could’ve been made. And a little about the maker. I will definitely browse more drums to see if I can find anything, but any help would be greatly...
Can you all help me with identifying this coat. From others posts it appears it's a 1940s style. The label, though worn shows American Fur Co. Salt Lake City. It's in pristine condition with no tears of the fur. There are some worn areas inside from wear but that is all. It has the...
Hi,
This fur coat was in my grandmother possession, unfortunately she never spoke of it before passing. My mum thinks it's mink but really neither of us know how to tell.
Can anybody help work out what it is and when it was likely to be made?
The branding is karter of scotland furs.
Hello,
I inherited two vintage fur coats from my mom. I believe one was actually my grandmothers. I would love to know what fur they are and any other information you are might know about. I'm clueless when it comes to furs. The first one (1st 4 pics) is a Stephen Burrows so I assume it is...
I was recently rummaging through some old stuff that had belonged to my grandmother (whom I had never met). I came across a fur coat of hers that I had not seen since childhood, when my mother stored it away to clear up space. She had it kept in a plastic bag aghhhh!!
Anyway, I had to save it. I...
Hello I’m Nicola and love vintage fashion. Stumbled across this wonderful site whilst trying to identify this gorgeous fur coat I found in a charity shop. It’s super soft and shiny but has no labels. It has narrow cuffs and square shoulders which I’ve not seen before.
Would anyone be able to...
I recently bought this fur stole but am having questions as
to the kind of fur it is. I originally thought mink but has a very
soft hand and a warm golden color. There is no label inside. Any ideas?
Hello everyone!
I'm new here and grateful to find this forum, since I've hit a dead-end with this lovely vintage fur I have and need to sell.
It is a piece passed down to my mother by an aunt, possibly dating back any decade between the 60s and 80s.
It is a light brown coat, I heard it could...
Need help dating this label for a women’s coat. It appears to be faux fur with real fur collar and cuffs. No other tags on garment. Any insight would be appreciated.
Hello,
I bought a coat thinking it really was a vintage faux leopard but now I’m not 100% certain. Can anyone identify this as real Or fake and if so what kind of fur is this. Upon some research, this doesn’t look like leopard. Does anyone have an idea on what this is??
thanks!!

I purchased this second hand, and it only has a label stating what the lining is made of, and another that says about looking after fur. It's very soft, measured about 2cm long. The hair underneath when you seperate the straight hair is more fuzzy.
I picked this stole up at an estate sale. Seller said it was from the 40s and she was pretty sure it was sable. I was hoping to identify the fur and it’s possible value.
I'm not certain what the proper names for these two pieces are, so I just grabbed a couple!
I've designated the shawl as the larger and the stole as the animal. I stated mink because that is what my friend who owned them called them. Also, they look like mink from all of your other pictures...
I have these two furs I need help Identifying. If someone could please help that would be amazing. Also if you know of somewhere I could possibly sell them that would be helpful as well. Thank you so much for your time.

I have recently purchased this coat for an event. I wondered what type of fur this actually is. Tag only says "Nigbor"
Thank you in advance, (In the event photo the one in the center)
This beauty came from an estate sale I worked at. We brought it home to research before putting it up for sale. Does anyone know what animals the fur is? It is reddish brown, and the collar is a light goldish color. See attached photos. There is a label that mentions fur authority.
I found this beautiful, gold lined silk fur at a thrift shop the other day. I've been trying to identify it, but I'm possibly more confused than I was when I found it! :) At this point I'm leaning toward the fur being dyed, but I am still curious which animal it was originally from and the...
