I have an esprit blouse that I am hoping to sell but am having trouble dating
I know ESPRIT started in the late 6os and from the style and sleeves, I would guess late 60/70s but I can't find any reference to this style of label with lowercase letters
Any ideas?

Hi everyone, I’m just wondering if yous know anything about this brand (or if you’ve heard of it) i can’t seem to make out the label name! I’ve been trying to find something like it and I’ve honestly never come across anything like it! I purchased this off a lady maybe 4 years ago who said her...
I have a crepe top, obviously inspired by Celia Birtwell, which makes me think it may be early 1970s.
Does this woven label (see image) bear out my idea that it is early 1970s and not an early 2000s-Celia-A-Like such as those which flooded the high street after her Topshop collaboration...
Hello! This past Sunday I went to a flea market and stumbled upon a pair of vintage sunglasses, I didn't end up buying them only to realize how much I loved them and regret it later on...however, I did take pictures of the brand/designer that is etched on the right arm. hoping I can figure out...
I am having trouble identifying what type of leather this is. It’s the most velvety leather I have ever felt, and it is extremely delicate and very easily stained with water/oils. It was an estate find and i tested a small spot on the base with a very lightly dampened cloth, and the leather...
Hello! I've had this dress for a while and have always thought it an interesting piece. My guess was that it dates 60s because of the length, the center back zipper and overall style. The only label is a very faded white square that states "Lot Sz 13." The dress itself is definitely a S/M when...
Hello All,
I have a conundrum. I found this gold late 50's early 60's jacket. I know this due to the union label, found that info on VFG. I believe it's Lame, what do you think?
Thanks much,
Joanne
Hello!
I'm the author of a book called St. Marks Is Dead (WW Norton, 2015), a history of the street in NYC's East Village. This week I'm working on a follow-up article specifically about resale clothing shops on the street. I'm wondering if anyone has any memories of vintage shopping in NYC...
hello all! So my mother who just turned 69 is starting to go through some of her old fashion items and we found this interesting bag. It has a mesh or chain mail inner liner, while the outside seems to be two inch leather squares that are linked together by chain adornments. This bag was taken...
Hi guys,
After hours of research online, I still haven't found the brand of a specific kind of dress I love. Now I'm stuck! I was hoping to lend your expert eye please to try and find out the maker.
I'm uploading some photos below.
Would anybody know who made these dresses please?
Many...
Hi Team,
I'm from Australia and was shopping at my local OP shop and found this amazing coat. It's a cream Alpaca (Lama) wool coat knee length. I've attached some photos the tags have that 1950s /1960s look and are hand sewn in. The garment was handmade in London. I'm terrible with the shape...
Rochester NY had a great store "back in the day" named Edwards & Sons. It closed in 1972. Sad because it was a favorite in our family. I still have mom's "metal charge plate" somewhere in a box!!
This dress was sold from that store in the late 1960s. When I found it in an estate, the...
Hi all! I need dating help with this embroidered blouse. Is it 20s/30s? Or 60s/70s? Something is telling me its older. How do you tell? Also, is it "Hungarian?" Or what ethnicity is it? This is the first time I've had one like this. TIA!
Hi y'all. I'm not sure what to call this type of leather, and i am not super good at telling diff types of leather apart. I don't know if i should call it suede or maybe it is Slink? iIt is velvety soft and has no nap. It has a particular grain but doesnt look to show pores that i can tell...
I have aquired a vintage Liberty of London (Hildebrand) dress, but I am wondering how to date it. From my research I'm going to guess 1960's, but it is hard to tell. The main reason I don't think it is any older is because it has a plastic zipper. Is there a website with different style of...
Good day all,
I am new to this forum so first Ill say hello, "Hello".
I am searching for a pair of 60s Amor Browline Glasses as worn by Ronnie Kray. I have searched and searched to no avail and was hoping you could help me. In the link below is an example of the frames. Any help would be...
Picked this up on Ebay for my new riding jacket. Love the fit and feel but don't know who or when it was made. Would anyone be able to help identify a possible date or manufacture on this jacket? Very thick leather maybe horsehide? Seller dated 50's or 60's? No tags only one inside jacket about...
I bought this lovely dress from the original owner this weekend. After bringing it home and discovering tags in the side as I unzipped it to put it on my mannequin, I went back to the sale to find out how she came to have it. She bought it new at Neiman Marcus in Dallas. Her aunt worked there...
Hi!
I'm having a hard time figuring out the designer of this piece, found in a vintage shop in Brooklyn, the shop's cashier said she thought it was vintage Emilio Pucci...but I've been doing some searching and I'm not so sure! Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

I am trying to find info on this coat. I notice the label is slightly different than the ones provided here. Has anyone seen a label like this one? Thank you!
Hi all, I'm a freelance journalist writing about the incredible knitwear on show in Call the Midwife for the January issue of Let's Knit magazine. I'd love to speak to anyone with specialist knowledge of the hand knits featured in the show, or more broadly of the yarns of the late 1950s and...
me again, with yet another piece that I can't identify. There are no tags or labels, so it must be handmade. It has an old dry cleaning (or something similar) tag attached with a local name and # which i have tried contacting to no avail.
It feels like wool, i guess it could be polyester...
Well, I finally figured out that I have to resize my photos IN the camera, not with the software! :duh2:
Would this be called "Panton" era or "Twiggy" era? I'm a little foggy on the early-mid-late 60's dating.
Howdy! Love this western shirt. Feels like rayon. Small collar. It is missing the brand tag. It just has this tag that says, "Permanent Press Oven Baked Process Never Needs Ironing." Trying to determine the brand based only on this. Found another shirt with the exact same tag...and it also was...
